Motherhood UnMasked Series: A Transformative Art Exhibit for Mothers
Join us for the Motherhood UnMasked Series, an empowering art exhibit followed by three educational workshops that invites mothers to express the duality of their motherhood journey through the creation of their own "Mask of Motherhood." Each mask represents two sides: the face the world sees, and the hidden emotions, struggles, and complexities rarely discussed. This exhibit shines a light on the emotional landscape of motherhood, helping to break down the walls of maternal shame.
Pick up your mask at the Medfield Library, 1/9 through 1/22 at the Children's Desk, design it at home, and return it for anonymous display at our opening event on January 28th.
The Motherhood UnMasked Series includes three educational and supportive workshops focused on important topics such as maternal shame, mom rage, and vulnerability and community. These workshops aim to foster connection, empathy, and validation, showing that the challenges mothers face are shared, not isolated.
Come be part of a powerful conversation about the realities of motherhood and embrace the strength in your story - attend all three events or just one!

Mask Activity Description:
This transformative opportunity allows you to express the multifaceted realities of motherhood through art, vulnerability, and connection. To create your Mask of Motherhood, start by picking up a mask at the Children’s Department of the Medfield Library between January 6th and 22nd. Your mask will represent two sides: one side shows what the world sees—the "perfect" mother image or the persona you feel expected to embody—and the other side reveals the hidden emotions, struggles, and vulnerabilities of motherhood, such as burnout or frustration. Use any materials you have at home to decorate your mask that help express these feelings. Once your mask is complete, please return it to the Children's Desk, no later than 1/22/25. Your mask will be anonymously displayed at the exhibit to help break the silence surrounding maternal shame and build a supportive community of mothers. Note: this is an educational series, not clinical in nature.
